Evening Times: MP Slams Firm On Its Health Reports.

Tom Greatrex MP has spoken out about the shocking waste of taxpayers’ money that has been caused by an avalanche of successful appeals against ATOS’ WCA ‘findings’.

He said: “Public confidence in Atos is at an all-time low.

“Everywhere you turn there are negative reports about its performance, from its customer service record to value for taxpayer money, and from its lack of transparency to the way it actually carries out assessments.

“The failure to treat claimants as individuals with specific conditions is a major failing of the process of assessing whether people are able to work.

“The Tory-led government’s failure to provide the taxpayer value for money is also disgraceful, and the attitude of the minister responsible for this defies belief.

“To suggest Atos has met all its targets when it is needlessly costing the taxpayer millions is unacceptable.

“The government is quick to demand money back from welfare recipients who don’t live up to their responsibilities. It should do likewise with Atos.”

I agree that it seems the idea of taking responsibility for one’s actions is only ever applied towards individuals, usually those who are actually in the worst circumstances in society, and never to the business/corporate world (which is often faceless). Neither, if we observe the behaviour of some of the plutocrats and politicians (who often turn out to be one and the same), and others who hold power, does it ever apply to them.
